A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized Tuesday night after a teenager repeatedly stabbed him with a butter knife on a Manhattan street, police and sources said.
The young victim and a 15-year-old boy got into a fight at the corner of West 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue around 6:40 p.m., police and law enforcement sources said.
The teenager allegedly brandished a butter knife and slashed the 10-year-old’s body, the sources said.
The boy suffered knife wounds to the stomach and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where his condition is stable, police said.
A person of interest has been taken into custody, according to the NYPD.
The investigation is ongoing.
