When people talk to me about the future of fashion in relation to tech, the Metaverse and NFTs, my eyes glaze over and I immediately tune out.
I am surely showing my age here, but for me the real joy of fashion is and always will be in the people who wear and make it, in true physical form.

I’m not a luddite but it will not surprise you then that my approach to “stylish gadgets” is very much focused on the aesthetically pleasing or trend focused, from the mini lapel microphone used by TikTok star Tinx to the colorful noughties-inspired iMacs, the Instax Mini Evo that combines the charm of analog with digital instant printing to the ultimate home gadget: the classic Moccamaster filter coffee machine.
In the beauty space particularly, devices and gadgets are a booming category, whether for maximizing your skincare and making hair styling simpler.
Luxury too is particularly attune to the whims of technology, with most brands offering a variety of small leather goods and accessories for storing AirPods or phones.
Louis Vuitton has taken it one step further with its striking portable speaker, designed as an “art object” from metal and leather and featuring all the tech specifications you want from a good speaker (including a light show to match the beat).
The tech behind all of these products is clearly incredible, but they will also add a touch of clever design to your home and life. Because technology is here to make our lives simpler, but surely it can make it nicer, too.
