A 13-year-old student was arrested after the Knoxville Police Department said they received a report that he threatened to bring a gun to Ridgedale School. He is accused of making threats of mass violence.
Police say a student threatened to shoot someone at the school. Police worked together to identify and locate the student, whose name is not being released because he is a minor.
The student was questioned on August 28 and arrested at his home, according to a KPD press release.
“We will have zero tolerance for those who make threats of violence against our schools,” Chief Paul Noel said in a news release. “I am grateful for the quick response of our officers and law enforcement partners after being notified of this threat.”
