15-year-old dies in Butler County crash; 3 juveniles injured

A 15-year-old girl has died following a crash that involved two cars and eight children Tuesday afternoon in Butler County, according to an official crash report from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.The Montgomery County Coroner has identified her as 15-year -old Hallie Deaton. Deaton was a passenger in a car with three friends, ages 15 and 16, when they crashed into another car on State Route 73.An adult and four children between the ages of 4 and 11 years old were in that second car. None of them were hurt.But in the teenager’s car, all were hurt. Deaton died after being flown to Miami Valley Hospital. According to a crash report, the crash happened after the car with the teenagers went left of center near Wehr Road in Wayne Township and collided with the other car.This crash happened while Edgewood Schools in Trenton is on spring break. People in the Trenton community and Edgewood School District are already coming out to show support for Deaton.Deaton’s family members said she loved sunflowers and the color red. Several people in the community are planning on showing support by tying red ribbons around neighborhoods.
