A 27-year-old woman was struck by gunfire from outside at a residence Wednesday evening in the Woodlawn neighborhood, and a man was also seriously injured in the same neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 7:45 p.m., the woman was inside a residence in the 6100 block of South Vernon Avenue when gunshots from outside struck her in the leg. She was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was found to be in good condition.
A 36-year-old man was also shot at the same location and went to Provident Hospital in Cook County where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
