A 30-year-old man was fatally wounded Friday morning in a shooting in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 6:45 a.m., the man was getting into his vehicle in the 7900 block of South Wabash Avenue when people approached and opened fire, police said.
The victim was taken to UChicago Medicine Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The gunmen fled in an unknown direction, police said.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
