The phone comes as a successor to the Realme Narzo 30 Pro and brings some notable improvements. For the first time in the Narzo series, we get a 90Hz AMOLED screen, which should greatly enhance the visual experience during games and even during media consumption. The phone also launches the latest Android 12 OS out of the box and packs a large 5000mAh battery.
The Realme Narzo 50 Pro has pretty good specifications for the price it carries. However, this does not necessarily mean that the phone has no errors based on our review. In this article, we will guide you through four reasons why you should buy Narzo 50 Pro and two reasons not to buy it.
4 reasons to buy Realme Narzo 50 Pro
Good design: The design of the Realme Narzo 50 Pro is familiar to most Realme phones in recent times, and that’s not a bad thing. It has a textured back panel that gives a good grip and is slightly curved to the edges so it does not hurt your hands, even after prolonged use. The phone is made of a polycarbonate body so the weight balance is also perfect.
The camera cutouts protrude slightly beyond the back panel so that it does not sit on a flat surface without swaying. The phone comes in the colors blue and black.
Performance: The Realme Narzo 50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset. While the chipset may not be as powerful as the 7 Series Snapdragon chipset, it is very capable in terms of CPU power and can also offer a decent gaming experience. The phone has managed to offer a fluid experience in daily tasks, loading apps and switching between apps.
BGMI was able to achieve the Extreme (60fps) frame rate setting when the graphics were set to smooth. There is no throttling or frame loss during play. The chipset is aided by up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There is no option to expand with a microSD card slot, more on that later.
Excellent battery life: The Realme Narzo 50 Pro packs a 5000mAh battery, aided by a 33W fast charge. Battery life has been extremely good. We were able to drive an entire day through without having to recharge again. It was capable of producing up to 7 hours of screen time on a single charge. There were also no discharge problems.
Great screen: The Realme Narzo 50 Pro comes with a 6.44-inch FHD + AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5-layer. This is the first time that a Narzo branded phone comes with an AMOLED panel and this is definitely a big improvement and upgrade. The AMOLED panel produces strong colors with deep black colors and a vibrant viewing experience.
The visuals are sharp, which should greatly enhance the gaming and content experience on the phone. Realme screens have been consistently good and the Narzo 50 Pro is no different.
2 reasons not to buy Realme Narzo 50 Pro
Bloatware: As with most mid-range phones and even budget phones these days, the Narzo 50 Pro comes with a lot of bloatware applications. This will definitely dampen the user experience, even with daily use. Although technology enthusiasts may know how to uninstall these applications, but we can not expect the same from most users. Despite running on the latest Android 12 OS, the phone’s software experience is not very impressive.
No MicroSD card expansion: Realme Narzo 50 Pro does not come with microSD card memory expansion support and this is a huge downgrade. This means that you will only be stuck with internal storage, with no option for expandable storage.
You are better off buying the larger storage option so you will not regret it in the future.
