They are in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Some of America’s best ski resorts are in New Hampshire and Vermont, according to Condé Nast Traveler readers.
“Deciding which ski resort to book for your next slopeside getaway is a tricky task. You need to consider everything from the most comfortable hotels to stay in to the best places to visit after the afternoon,” wrote Condé Nast Traveler.
The travel publication recently released a list of the 30 best ski resorts in the United States, as part of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards 2024, and five New England spots made the list: Bretton Woods in New Hampshire, ranked No. 6; Killington Resort in Vermont ranked 15th; Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont, ranked No. 17; Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont ranked 18th; and Waterville Valley Resort in New Hampshire ranked No. 27.
The #1 ski resort in the United States is Snowmass, Colorado.
Bretton Woods, New Hampshire’s largest ski area and the highest-ranked New England location on the list, celebrated its 50th anniversary last season. Earlier this year, Stowe Mountain Resort was named one of the Top 10 Ski Resorts in the United States by The Family Vacation Guide and Killington Resort was named one of the Top 10 Ski Resorts in the United States and Canada by Good housekeeping.
