Seven people, including a 6-year-old boy and his 16-year-old sister, are dead and dozens more injured after a bus crash in Mississippi.

Authorities were called to the scene of the crash in Warren County, Mississippi, around 12:40 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol said in a news release. The bus, operated by Regiomontanos Autobuses, was traveling westbound on Interstate 20 when it left the highway and overturned. Authorities did not say what caused the bus to leave the road.

Six people were pronounced dead at the scene, MHP said, and one person died at Merit Health Hospital in Vicksburg.

Thirty-seven other passengers were transported to local hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson with “unknown injuries,” the MHP said. A person identified as the bus’ co-driver was not transported.

None of the victims have been publicly identified, but Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey confirmed to CBS News that two of the victims were siblings. The 6-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were both from Guatemala and were identified by their mother. Huskey said the others on the bus were also from the Central American country.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The crash is being investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division.
