Nine children were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after falling ill at Fulton Elementary School in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, firefighters said.
Authorities said first responders received a call around 12:55 p.m. about several sick children, although the cause of the possible illness is unclear.
All nine children were transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.
NBC Chicago reached out to Chicago Public Schools for comment and has not yet received a response.
No further information was available.
