CCM 90 Day Fiancé Reality TV star David Murphey has died.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that David Murphey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at his home on December 11, 2024 after experiencing health challenges over the past several years,” Murphey’s family said in a released statement on Instagram.

According to his family, Murphey, 66, recently retired from his position in the Clark County, Nevada, treasurer’s office and was a veteran, small business owner and software engineer.

Years before his death, David Murphey starred on TLC’s hit reality show “90 Day Fiancé.”

“He was also well known for his role as an actor in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days“, his family wrote in the statement of his meeting and relationship with a Ukrainian woman, Lana. “His time on the show allowed him to connect with viewers, see the world and share his experiences with his thousands of followers on Instagram.

Murphey, who split from Lana in 2019, is survived by his two sisters and his cat Gamera.

In March 2023, Murphey revealed on Instagram Live that he was sick and “in and out of the hospital” for almost three months.

At the time, he said he was suffering from liver problems “that weren’t working properly” for the second time since the previous fall.

He said he also had problems with his pancreas and kidneys, as well as two blood clots in his lungs.

TMZ reported that Murphey was diagnosed with liver cancer around the same time.

The reality TV star’s family has not released the cause of her death.
