Police have issued a warning after three people died from “fatal medical episodes” linked to a suspected dangerous batch of drugs.

Two men and a woman were confirmed dead in the South Shields area of north-east England on Tuesday afternoon, sparking an investigation.

Authorities now believe the deaths could potentially be linked to the same batch of drugs that led to the “fatal medical episodes.”

Relatives of three people, a man in his thirties, a man in his forties and a woman in her thirties, were all informed by officers of their deaths.

Northumbria Police have now issued an urgent warning to the public.

Detective Inspector Emma Martin, of Northumbria Policesaid: “While the circumstances surrounding these three deaths remain unexplained, our top priority as a force is to protect people from harm.

“Although not confirmed at this point, we are exploring the possibility that all three deaths are drug-related and possibly the same batch that led to fatal medical episodes.”

Police did not specify what type of drugs were involved, but said all three deaths occurred in the same city.
