BOSTON — Members of alternative band Jane’s Addiction were seen fighting on stage during their concert in Boston Friday night.

A fight filmed on video

It happened during the band’s concert at Leader Bank Pavilion. Video shows lead singer Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro yelling and confronting each other mid-song, shoving each other before Farrell throws a punch at Navarro. Another man then jumps between them, breaking up the fight. The concert ended early.

Video of the incident quickly spread on social media, with some fans speculating that the group might be splitting up.

The woman blames frustration

“Perry’s frustration grew as night after night he felt like the volume on stage was extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band,” Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, wrote in an Instagram post Saturday morning.

She said her husband suffered from tinnitus and a sore throat and that by the end of the song he was no longer singing, he was just screaming to be heard. She added that her husband then broke down and cried.

Jane’s Addiction, known for their songs “Jane Says” and “Been Caught Stealing,” are embarking on their first tour in 15 years. Their next concert is scheduled for September 15 at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheatre in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

WBZ-TV reached out to concert promoter Live Nation for comment but did not hear back. The band also has not addressed the incident on social media.
