Donald Trump is a ‘deeply sick traitor’: Mary Trump

Former President Donald Trump’s niece has described her uncle as a “deeply sick traitor.”

In a blog post published Saturday titled “Cheating as a Way of Life: What Donald Continues to Do Without Getting Caught,” Mary Trump discussed what she believes is at stake in the upcoming election and the “lies” her uncle allegedly told.

His comments came shortly after his appearance on MSNBC. Deadline: White HouseWednesday, when Mary Trump told host Nicolle Wallace that her uncle had suffered a “resounding defeat” during the first, and potentially only, presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday night.

The majority of polls and pundits gave Harris the victory. The former president’s niece said the defeat was “a narcissistic wound from which he will never recover.”

The psychologist and author, who is the daughter of Donald Trump’s brother Fred, is a prolific and frequent critic of the former president. In 2020, she published the book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man who was critical of Trump.

“Donald spent the weekend, as he often does, lying to the American people,” Mary Trump wrote on her Substack channel.

She then referenced the former president’s claims that the debate with Harris was rigged and his claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

“With my uncle, it’s always about projection,” she said, “and it’s even more true when he’s trying to rig an upcoming election.”

Mary Trump then referred to a post her uncle made on his Truth Social app in which he said the 2024 election “will be subject to the utmost professional scrutiny.” He said Democrats engaged in “widespread cheating and fraud” in 2020.

He then stated in his message: “WHEN I WIN, the people who CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the LAW.”

Mary Trump quoted the message in full and said: “Unsurprisingly, this rant ignored the fact that the only people who were caught cheating in the last presidential election were a few old white Republicans, living in the Villages, and of course, him.”

She wrote: “The stakes are much higher now than they were in 2016 or 2020, and he will stop at nothing to get back into the White House, which at this point is the only thing that will save his dwindling fortune or keep him out of jail.”

“This election is too important for us to rely on a media that continues, against all evidence, to normalize a deeply sick traitor just so we can keep the election going,” Mary Trump said.

Newsweek reached out to the Donald Trump campaign for comment, which provided the following statement: “Trump Derangement Syndrome is a serious problem and people like her need to get checked out.”
