A 43-year-old woman who was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in the Jackson Park Highlands neighborhood on the South Side has been identified.
The woman was inside her residence in the 6800 block of South Cornell Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday when she was approached by a teenager who pulled out a gun and shot the victim, Chicago police said.
The teenager fled.
The victim was shot four times in the head and was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was pronounced dead. She was identified as Tatanisha Jackson, from the same neighborhood where she was killed, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
