‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ Trailer: Watch Selena Gomez and David Henrie Reprise Their Iconic Roles as Alex and Justin

David Henrie and Selena Gomez return to the roles that made them stars in the first trailer for the highly anticipated Disney+ film Wizards of Waverly Place restart.

In the teaser of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Justin Russo (Henrie) receives a surprise visit from his sister Alex Russo (Gomez), who tasks him with training a “stubborn” and “rebellious” yet powerful young witch named Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown), who holds the fate of the world in her hands.

Justin, now married with two children, living in the suburbs and no longer working as a WizTech executive, promises his wife Giada (Mimi Gianopulos) that nothing will change now that they have a wizard in the house. But, naturally, Billie drags the Russo kids into all sorts of magical shenanigans.

Despite Billie’s habit of getting into trouble, Justin promises to stick by her no matter what. “You made a mistake. That’s part of growing up. And in our family, we don’t get fired for making a mistake,” he says in the trailer.

Henrie first announced the The Wizards Henrie announced the series’ exit in January of this year, revealing that he would not only be reprising his beloved role on the show, but would also be serving as an executive producer alongside Gomez, who will guest star in the first episode. Since then, Henrie has also made appearances in several other episodes, including David DeLuise, who played his on-screen father Jerry Russo, Maria Canals-Barrera, who played his on-screen mother Theresa Russo, and, most recently, Gregg Sulkin, who played Alex’s boyfriend/werewolf Mason.

More, A boy meets the world star Danielle Fishel and It’s so Raven star Raven-Symoné, who already led her own reboot The Raven’s House, will direct episodes throughout the first season.

The original Wizards of Waverly Place aired for four seasons between 2007 and 2012, and even had its own spin-off film. Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie in 2009. The sitcom followed the Russo children as they trained to become wizards while navigating normal teenage experiences.

The first two episodes of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place The series premieres Tuesday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Disney Channel, with the first nine episodes streaming the following day on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand.
