An attacker beat a woman at a Midtown train station Tuesday morning after accusing her of staring at him, police and sources said.
The 28-year-old woman was standing on the platform of the northbound C train at the 50th Street station around 3:10 a.m. when the bully asked her to stop looking at him, authorities and reports said. sources.
He then became violent and struck the woman in the torso with a knife, police said.
He fled the station and had not been caught as of Wednesday.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The suspect, described as a man in his 50s and approximately 6 feet tall, was last seen wearing yellow pants and a blue shirt and carrying a black gym bag.
Surveillance footage released Tuesday by the New York Police Department shows him walking on the sidewalk and looking around.
