The Skyhawks were unable to capitalize on three Seahawks turnovers.
NORTH EASTON, Mass. (AP) — Jake Cady threw three touchdowns, Rickey Spruill had a rushing and receiving touchdown, and Wagner eased Stonehill to a 28-7 score Saturday.
Cady was 6 of 14 for 168 yards, with touchdown passes to Jeremiah Colclough, Spruill and Christian Tait. Seventy-seven of those yards came on a long throw over the middle that Colclough caught and ran to the end zone to take a quick 7-0 lead. Colclough and Tait each scored on their only catch of the match.
After senior Christian Davis threw an interception on the final drive of the first quarter, the Seahawks turned it into points as Cady found Spruill for a 24-yard touchdown. After another defensive stop, Tait scored Wagner’s first touchdown to make it 21-0 with 7:33 left before halftime.
Spruill took 48 yards to score and put the game away. He finished with 103 rushing yards on 14 carries.
Wagner (3-3, 1-1 Northeast Conference) turned it over three times – two interceptions and a fumble – but Stonehill (1-3, 1-1) couldn’t capitalize.
The Skyhawks were held to 192 total yards, while Wagner gained 262 yards rushing.
Ashur Carraha was 15 of 29 for 140 yards with one interception for Stonehill.
