How to play “Connections”
In RelationshipsPlayers are faced with the challenge of grouping 16 words into four categories based on their relationships. Each group is color-coded to indicate difficulty: yellow for the easiest sets, followed by green, blue, and purple for the most difficult sets. The puzzles often incorporate homophones, puns, and other clever twists, ensuring that they are rarely simple. Players can use the shuffle button to shuffle the words on the screen if they get stuck.
Wyna Liu, who created Relationshipsrecently offered some tips for approaching the game in an interview with News week.
“My best advice is to not guess for as long as possible,” Liu explained. “You might spot a clear category and think you see five words that match, but don’t try to guess all four until you’re sure which one doesn’t belong. Jumping in too early can cost you a ride. “
Liu also warned against what she calls “rage resolution,” a method she admits to using sometimes.
