Construction worker killed in Manhattan building collapse

A construction worker was killed when a Manhattan building collapsed Friday morning, the FDNY said.

The severity of the collapse was not immediately clear.

The incident happened at 9:18 a.m. on E. 35th St. near Park Ave. in Murray Hill.

The worker was believed to have been hit by falling debris, officials said.

Information about ongoing work is not listed on the Ministry of Buildings website.

A report in June said permits had been filed for an 18-story mixed-use building that will include 137 apartments.
