That’s when a huge brawl broke out at a popular Peak District beauty spot, with people throwing large sticks at each other.
The fight began on Saturday afternoon at the famous Dovedale Stepping Stones in Derbyshire National Park.
An eyewitness told MailOnline the fight centred around a man trying to cross the Stepping Stones with a pushchair.
The 25-year-old, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “We were at the Stepping Stones and there was a guy trying to cross them.
“There was a guy with a stroller who wanted to cross and all of a sudden it all started.
“They yelled at each other for a while before they started fighting, then they started picking up sticks.
“There were families there and children watching.”
MailOnline has contacted Derbyshire Police for comment.
The Dovedale Stepping Stones are located at the base of Thorpe Cloud, a peak in the national park.
This beauty spot is popular with families looking for a day out in the countryside with the stones used as a crossing point across a shallow river.
The row came after the National Trust announced six months ago that the Stepping Stones were closed to the public after being damaged in Storm Babet.
The National Trust said several stones had been “knocked over” by debris washed down the River Dove and urged visitors not to attempt to cross them.
Plans to repair and reopen the monument are currently being drawn up by Derbyshire County Council.
The stepping stones were first laid around 1890, when Victorian visitors began to make frequent trips to the area.
By walking through the stones, visitors cross the county border between Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
The National Trust acquired the stones in 1934 and they became part of a national nature reserve in 2006.
A National Trust spokesperson said previously: “The Dovedale stepping stones are an iconic feature of the Peak District and we look forward to seeing them back in full use once the local authority is able to carry out repairs to the right of way.”
