There are “serious” delays on a section of the M62 this morning due to “ongoing roadworks”.
Two lanes are closed on the westbound side of the motorway between junction 22 and junction 20 near Rochdale due to roadworks that have exceeded the permitted limit, according to National Highways.
There are currently “significant” delays of around 45 minutes. Motorists have been advised to “allow time” this morning.

National Highways said in a post on X: “There are currently 45 minutes delays on the #M62 in #GreaterManchester westbound between J22 and J20 #Rochdale due to roadworks which have closed 2 lanes. We are working to get all lanes open as soon as possible.
“Thank you for your patience, please allow additional time.”
