7 Watertown-area businesses cited for selling alcohol to minors Thursday

Seven area businesses provided alcohol to people under the age of 21 on Thursday, according to the Watertown Police Department.

On December 19 at approximately 4 p.m., the Watertown Police Department and the Codington County Sheriff’s Office conducted routine alcohol compliance checks.

The sellers who allegedly participated in these sales were cited for providing alcoholic products to persons under 21 years of age.

The seven businesses allegedly serving minors, according to the release, were:

  • Midtown Smoke Shop (Watertown)

  • Boucher Dakota (9th Avenue SW Watertown)

  • Cenex (10th Street NW, Watertown)

  • Liberty on Kemp (Watertown)

  • Cowboy No. 3 Liquor Store (Watertown)

The following companies have passed compliance checks:

  • Stone Truck Stop (Watertown)

  • LT Liqueur (Watertown)

  • Casey’s (Fourth Street NE, Watertown)

  • Hy-Vee Wines and Spirits (Watertown)

  • Discount liquor (Watertown)

  • Cowboy No. 2 Liquor Store (Watertown)

  • Highway 81 Liquor (Watertown)

  • Cowboy No. 1 Liquor Store (Watertown)

  • Gasoline and goodies (Watertown)
