From Wrigleyville bars to rooftop landscapes, holiday pop-ups are taking over the city and bringing festive concoctions with them. At these locations, guests have the opportunity to take photos with life-size decorations, sip winter cocktails, and participate in thrilling activities like ax throwing.
Here are seven pop-up holiday bars around Chicago to visit:
Frosty Christmas Bar
Dubbed “the ultimate Christmas vacation experience,” Frosty’s is back for its eighth year. The three-level venue will be adorned with elaborate Christmas decorations, such as life-size toy soldiers, hanging ornaments and giant candy canes. There will also be pole dancing elves and singing Santas. ‘

Jack Frost at Fulton Market
Celebrate the holidays under a million lights at the Jack Frost pop-up in Fulton Market. Beyond a festive cocktail menu, you can participate in activities like ax throwing, ice skating, winter bumper cars, and photo ops.

Santa Baby Christmas Bar
Enjoy holiday cocktails, appetizers, brunch and five types of hot chocolate at Santa Baby Christmas Bar.

Mistletoe to Mordecai
Sit down for a great meal and festive drinks like the “Gingerbread Milk Punch” at Mistletoe at Mordecai, where the second-floor bar has been transformed into a festive wonderland.
The pop-up is located opposite Winterland in Gallagher Way, so it’s a great place to visit for a drink after enjoying some festive activities. Learn more here.
Mariah Carey’s party bar
Located at Chicago’s Virgin Hotel, Mariah Carey’s Holiday Bar celebrates the 30th anniversary of the popstar’s festive hit “All I Want For Christmas is You.”
Visitors can enter the world of the Christmas Queen and experience a warm, welcoming atmosphere with twinkling lights and seasonal decor, according to the event website.
There are plenty of activities: singing Carey’s hit Christmas tunes, writing a letter to the Queen of Christmas herself, and taking lots of photos.

Rudolph’s Roof at London House
Enjoy panoramic views of Chicago sprinkled with winter spirit at Rudolph’s Rooftop at London House Chicago. Guests can reserve private igloos and sip drinks like spiced mulled wine or festive cocktails.
The pop-up is located on the rooftop of LH on 22nd with walk-up bar service available on a first-come, first-served basis, if you’re not looking to reserve an igloo. Reserve a place here.
Elf standing
Visit a holiday bar full of laughter at Elf’d Up, a pop-up inspired by the Christmas comedy “Elf.”
Fans of the film can enjoy visits from Buddy the Elf and special menu items from the film, like Buddy’s Breakfast Pasta, which includes spaghetti, maple syrup, chocolate fudge and mini marshmallows. The bar doesn’t charge an entry fee, and free elf-shaped cookies are handed out every night at 10 p.m.
