The medals continued to flow for Team USA on Monday as athletes claimed victory after victory at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The U.S. men’s gymnastics team won its first medal in eight years, while the women’s basketball team dominated on the court and captured an unprecedented eighth consecutive gold medal.
Individual athletes are also doing well.
Southern suburbs native Ryan Murphy won bronze in the men’s 100m backstroke, while fencer Nick Itkin won a bronze medal in the men’s individual foil competition.
The U.S. team won bronze in the men’s artistic gymnastics team final on Monday, the first medal for the men’s team in 16 years.

As of Monday night, the U.S. medal count stood at 20.
In terms of overall medals, the United States led, with France not too far behind with 16. Japan, however, led the gold medal table with six to Team USA’s three.
