Harrison Ford doesn’t take himself too seriously.
The actor appears in his first Marvel film as Red Hulk, using motion capture technology to achieve the character’s transformation. When asked what it took to film those scenes, the often blunt Indiana Jones actor told Variety, “What did it take? It took not caring. It took acting like an idiot for money, which I’ve done before.”
He quickly clarified, however, that he was not criticizing the film.
“I don’t want to disparage the movie,” the 82-year-old actor said. “I’m just saying you have to do some things that your mother wouldn’t normally want you to do — or your drama teacher, if you had one. But it’s fun and I enjoyed it. I had a great time and I’m thrilled with the reaction we got to the trailer.”

When journalist Angelique Jackson said Ford gave Comic-Con fans a “taste of that Red Hulk inside Harrison,” he joked, “Let’s keep him inside.”
Ford will play Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who transforms into the Red Hulk in the new “Captain America: Brave New World” film directed by Anthony Mackie and released next year.

The Han Solo actor left Variety with one final remark after the journalist said one of the actors revealed that Ford’s presence in the film “scratched that itch in his little nerd heart.” She asked, “What part of your inner nerd are you satisfying by joining the [Marvel Comic Universe]?”
“Well, if I have to scratch, it’s usually my butt,” Ford joked, passing it to another reporter.

The former “Star Wars” actor is reprising the role of William Hurt, who died in 2022.
“He laid a very strong foundation for the character, and I respect him so much for the work he’s done throughout his life,” Ford told People magazine over the weekend. “God bless his soul. I’m thrilled to be able to stand on his shoulders and continue to play this character.”
