Alec Baldwin returned to the cold “Saturday Night Live” audience, but not as President-elect Donald Trump — who he impersonated for much of Trump’s first term — and rather as a new candidate for office. head of the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Kennedy, who is the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, ran for president as an independent this election cycle before dropping out and supporting Trump.
The vaccine skeptic once said he once threw a dead bear in Central Park and a parasitic worm infected its brain.
“I care deeply about the right of women to choose, the right to choose to give their child polio,” Baldwin said as Kennedy.
“Alright, I gotta go, I got a dead dolphin in my car,” Baldwin added as Kennedy. “I think I might cut it in half and throw it in Central Park.”
Before Baldwin as Kennedy made his appearance, actor James Austin Johnson returned as Trump and “SNL” legend Dana Carvey returned as President Joe Biden. The two men sat in the Oval Office and discussed the transition.
“Ugh, I forgot how boring the president is,” Johnson said as Trump. “I love running, I hate being.”
“Come on, let’s be real man, this place is awesome,” Carvey responded as Biden. “I have so many wonderful memories here. Dr. Jill hosted foreign leaders. My dog was attacking them all. I rallied my party so much that they teamed up and kicked me out. Wait a minute, maybe- be I hate it here too.
Johnson and Trump then spoke about his cabinet, whom he described as “the best people.”
“We have Elon and Matt Gaetz, it’s an alien against a predator,” Johnson said as Trump. “We have Kristi Noem and RFK Jr., they kill dogs, they kill bears. And Melania will be working remotely after her divorce.”
The host and musical guest on this week’s “SNL” was musician Charli xcx, who started the viral “kid” trend on social media.
“For those of you who recognize me, you may know me from my album ‘Brat,” Charli xcx said during the show’s monologue. “But don’t worry if you don’t, there’s nothing wrong with being straight.”
