TRAFFIC was held on the M606 motorway this morning following the discovery of a man’s body.
A cordon was in place and the motorway was blocked while emergency services attended the scene.
A number of police cars and an ambulance could be seen on the motorway carriageway.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man’s body was found by the side of the motorway at just before 7am.
He said: “Inquiries are on-going to establish the full facts of what has happened.
“Road closures were put in place north and southbound from the Staithgate Roundabout.”
Traffic alerts are reporting that all lanes have now re-opened.
