Most airplane seats have the ability to recline for a relaxing flight experience, but one man explained that another passenger’s seat may have gone too far.
In a recent post on He revealed in the post that he was sitting in first class on an American Airlines flight.
“‘First class,'” his message began. “Dude is on my lap. You continue to be horrible, @AmericanAir.
In the thread, the man explained that he had limited access to move around the cabin. He suggested that the seat could have moved back so far because it was broken.
“I can’t use my tablet and I have no chance of getting up. I’m in 3C, so 2C is clearly broken. AA1851. Get it fixed before someone else wastes a fortune on first class and gets screwed @AmericanAir,” the post read.
In an interview with Fox Newsuser
“He ignored it – basically saying, ‘It’s an old plane; “Some of these seats are worn out,'” he told the outlet. “No matter how I positioned myself, the seat was always against my knees. The gentleman sitting in front of me was very friendly, but he didn’t was unable to lock the seat forward as it was unusable.
American Airlines later responded to the passenger’s complaint, commenting under his post apologizing for the uncomfortable experience.
“Keeping our planes in tip-top condition is always the goal,” they wrote. “We are sorry for this inconvenience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We will forward this directly to the maintainers for review. Our apologies again. »
However, he still wasn’t satisfied with the apology, as the man responded, “Maintenance isn’t going to see the money I wasted again…”
Talk with Foxthe social media user explained that he spent $500 more for a first class seat, specifically to have more legroom, which was not possible due to the seat malfunction.
This isn’t the first time someone has complained about a seat on a flight. In September, Erin Rempel took to TikTok to share a video of her experience in the middle seat of a plane.
The clip showed her sitting in the middle seat with two men on either side of her, who had stretched their legs enough to make her appear squashed in her seat. The text on the screen of her video simply read: “Female Rage.”
“Why would anyone EVER need so much space??? I tried to get him to move but he wouldn’t,” she captioned her video.
Her TikTok went on to receive over 20 million views, and many people took to the comments to express how they were as crazy as Rempel. Some people have even called it “manspreading” – when a man spreads his legs in a public space, usually taking up an extra seat in the process or invading other people’s space.
“Girl, you need to say something.” They don’t need to overdo it, if you’re nervous, call a flight attendant,” one commenter pointed out at the time.
