CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and radio host Charlamagne Tha God called each other out during a heated discussion Thursday night.
The clash began after Charlamagne, while appearing on Cooper’s show, began attacking media outlets like CNN for not focusing enough on the fact that former President Trump was a fascist and instead discussing of racial issues involving Vice President Kamala Harris.
“It’s crazy because the news networks still aren’t having this conversation, like when someone says, when someone questions Kamala Harris’s blackness or is she a DEI recruit, you’ll get all roundtables about this, asking this question How come we “I’m not having a roundtable asking if Donald Trump is a fascist. In fact, he doesn’t even ask, he says it,” Charlamagne said.
He added: “How come this isn’t a daily topic of discussion on networks like CNN?

“I talk about it every night,” Cooper replied.
Charlamagne blasted Cooper and CNN for continuing to ask him about Harris while ignoring Trump.
“I don’t think you’re having enough conversations about this,” Charlamagne said. “I feel like I’ve heard more on this network about Kamala Harris Black than about Donald Trump being a fascist.”
“Honestly, it’s bulls—,” Cooper responded. “I’m sorry. I’m a fan of yours, but to think we’re chatting is Kamala Harris Black—”
“I’ve seen that. I’ve seen a lot of roundtable discussions. Now that’s bulls—, Anderson,” Charlamagne said.
Cooper insisted that no CNN anchor asked if Harris was black, even though there may have already been “crazy people” on a panel with “firmly held beliefs.” He argued that it was part of his show to “have a legitimate conversation” with “different points of view.”
“I don’t think any network is having honest conversations about Donald Trump. Nobody has had an honest conversation about Donald Trump since 2016. I saw last night, they were talking about, you know, the double standard that exists between Donald Trump and the vice president, but “There are always double standards with Trump, whether against Hillary or against Biden. Now, with Kamala, we say he is a threat to democracy, but we don’t treat him as such,” Charlamagne replied.
“I don’t know what you’ve been watching, but I don’t know if there are Trump supporters or people who like him, who listen to me every night trying to get their opinions validated,” he said. Cooper said. replied.
He added: “Let me just say that there is not a person on the planet who has not heard and seen just about everything Donald Trump has said.”
“I don’t believe it,” Charlamagne interjected. “When the vice president said that to you last night, and she said, ‘I don’t think enough people know that,’ I 100 percent believe enough people haven’t heard her rhetoric. ”
Cooper then agreed with panel member Angela Rye about the double standard between Harris and Trump, criticizing Trump for having no policy over Harris. Charlamagne appreciated his comments and added that he would “love to hear more experts” do the same.

“I’m not an expert. I’m not interested. I don’t think my opinion is particularly interesting to viewers,” Cooper said.
“I disagree,” Charlamagne said.
Cooper continued: “Well, you can quibble with that, but I believe in asking questions and probing people’s arguments and trying to uncover people’s arguments about what’s true and what’s not. not. And I’m not on MSNBC for a reason I’m not on any other network for a reason I’m on CNN because I want to talk to the Democrats and I don’t think I have. the answers. to change my mind. People can convince me of things all the time, I don’t even know why I’m talking about myself.
Cooper also denounced people who attacked him over his questioning with Harris during the CNN town hall Wednesday night, saying they “misunderstood” his work and further mocked MSNBC and himself.
“I’m not on MSNBC and that’s no disrespect. What they do is they’re very talented, but I don’t watch it. I’m not interested in watching what think these dry overpaid presenters and I include myself in this overpaid blowdry – even if I do not dry, I am overpaid, but I am not interested in the opinion of the presenters, I am interested in the facts and I Let the viewers make up their own minds,” Cooper said.
“Now that I know you can literally call bulls—, I want to hear it more,” Charlamagne said.
