Two gunmen opened fire on a vehicle on a busy stretch of 26th Street in the Little Village neighborhood Saturday afternoon, critically wounding a 3-month-old boy and a 21-year-old man inside, Chicago police said.
The victims were inside a car in the 3100 block of West 26th Street shortly after 4:30 p.m. when the gunmen got out of another vehicle and fired multiple shots at the victim’s car, police said.
The man was struck multiple times, while the boy was shot in the chest, police said. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Police did not specify the relationship between the man and the boy.
No arrests have been made as Harrison area detectives continue their investigation.
