Biden claims Trump has no ‘redemptive value’, claims to crush him like a bug over Iranian assassination threat

President Biden avoided addressing the emerging Iranian threat of an assassination plot against former President Trump while pretending to squash him like a bug during his appearance on “The View.”

On Tuesday, Trump was briefed on “actual and specific threats” from Iran to assassinate him, according to his campaign. The former president has already been the victim of two separate assassination attempts.

Biden was asked by co-host Joy Behar how Trump blamed him and Vice President Kamala Harris for their rhetoric that Trump said inspired the would-be assassins.

Instead of acknowledging Iran’s apparent efforts to have Trump killed, Biden lashed out at the “most unusual president.”

“I ran for three reasons,” Biden said Wednesday. “I said I wanted to restore the soul of the country, which is a sense of decency and honor. Second, I wanted to grow the middle class, because when the middle class grows, everybody does well. And third, I wanted to bring the country together, and I was told we couldn’t do any of that. And we did a lot of that.”

“And look, Trump is a, uh,” Biden said before pausing.

“Be careful,” Behar added jokingly.

“There’s not a lot of social value in that,” Biden said afterward, drawing applause from the liberal audience. “He really doesn’t believe in democracy and the safeguards that our system has in place against abuse of power.”

In another TV appearance, Biden appeared to have fun with Whoopi Goldberg’s analogy of Trump being an annoying “bug.”

“I always thought I should probably do four years and then try to figure out where to go with Kamala,” Goldberg said. “Then [Trump] “He just wouldn’t – he was like a bug. He kept being there. He was like a bug right there,” before pointing at the table and making a buzzing noise.

Biden then slammed his hand on the table, pretending to have killed the insect, prompting laughter and applause from his fans as the president offered a giant smile in return.
