Black cowboys in Chicago, northwest Indiana, keep traditions alive – Chicago Tribune

Hello, Chicago.

Former Chicago Ald. Daniel Solis was questioned on the federal witness stand today about prostitutes and smoking while on a trip to Puerto Rico with other elected officials, the use of campaign funds to make purchases at high-end department stores and paying his son’s college tuition, and potential tax fraud involving more than half a million dollars he received from his sister.

And Solis’ cross-examination only seems to be getting heated.

Solis, who went undercover for the FBI, is the prosecution’s main witness in the blockbuster trial of former House Speaker Michael Madigan, who along with his longtime confidant, Michael McClain, is accused of racketeering for allegedly running his political operations as a criminal enterprise.
