The Black Shark 5 series is going on a world tour – the vanilla model and the Pro will be available through several online stores tomorrow. The mid-range model, RS, is not part of this launch.

The Black Shark 5 Pro and the vanilla model are pretty similar. Both have 144Hz 6.67 “AMOLED displays (FHD +, Samsung E4) with 720Hz touch sampling rate and magnetic pop-up triggers, both with stereo speakers.

The two use the same batteries with 4,650 mAh capacity and 120W fast charging (0-100% in 15 minutes or in 24 minutes in battery saving mode). The batteries are rated for 1,200 charge cycles and support battery bypass (ie use external power while playing).

Both also have Snapdragon chipsets. The difference is that the Pro uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, plus faster RAM (6,400MHz vs. 5,500MHz). Vanilla Black Shark 5 uses the Snapdragon 870 instead. Both phones launch with JoyUI 13 (based on Android 12).

Another little difference between the phones that we left in the end as it does not affect the gaming cameras. The Pro has a 108 MP main camera (1 / 1.52 ”sensor, 0.7 µm), while the vanilla gets a 64 MP sensor (0.7 µm). The Pro also has a better macro camera, 5MP tele-macro vs. 2MP with standard optics.
Along with the phones, Black Shark JoyBuds Pro will also be global. These TWS knobs have a game mode with low latency (40 ms), 30 hours of total playback (fast charging too, 15 minutes of charging = 3 hours of playback) and IPX4 watertightness.
These are based on the Snapdragon Sound platform and support aptX Adaptive for high quality sound. They have 12mm drivers and adaptive ANC (40dB noise reduction) that have modes like wind reduction. JoyBuds Pro sells for $ 80 / € 80.
