Body found in Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas

Another body was found in popular Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, where other deceased people have been found recently.

The latest body discovered joins the growing mystery after at least 6 more bodies were found throughout the year in the lake in 2024. On Friday, police were called to investigate reports of a person dead in the water near the 1st Street bridge and the 300 block. César Chávez.

The Austin Police Department (APD) said it did not suspect foul play because the body showed no signs of trauma, but was investigating the incident.

Although the APD attempted to allay the community’s fears, questions and speculation grew. Police attributed most of the deaths to accidental drownings due to the lake’s proximity to nightclubs and bars.
