After two games under Bill O’Brien at Boston College, the Eagles have already moved into the top 25 of the Associated Press poll.

After an upset win over No. 10 Florida State on Monday and a 56-0 rout of Duquesne on Saturday, BC is ranked 24th in the country.

It’s the first time the Eagles (2-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) have been ranked in the AP poll since 2018, when they reached No. 17 — and just the second time since 2009.

The Week 3 ranking is also the earliest for the Eagles since they were ranked in both the AP and Coaches’ preseason top-25 polls at No. 22 before the start of the 2005 season.

Nationally, Boston College ranks seventh in rushing defense (40.5) and ninth in rushing offense (282.5). The Eagles are 10th in scoring defense (6.5) and 23rd in scoring offense (42.0). BC also ranks first in the country in team passing efficiency (245.83).

Boston College’s next game is a matchup against No. 6 Missouri (2-0) this Saturday at 12:45 p.m. The game is the only one between two ranked teams that day.

If the Eagles pull off an upset, they’ll likely crack the top 15 for the first time since 2007, when Matt Ryan led BC to second place.
