Brad Pitt ‘receives news’ from Pax after crash despite being estranged

Brad Pitt is reportedly “getting an update” on his estranged son Pax Jolie-Pitt, who was released from intensive care last week after an electric bike accident in Los Angeles.

The 61-year-old Oscar winner, who shares his 20-year-old son with ex Angelina Jolie, “hasn’t had any contact with Pax in years, but he still cares a lot about him,” a source told People.

Jolie-Pitt was not wearing a helmet at the time of the July 30 crash, which occurred during rush hour at an intersection on Los Feliz Boulevard, where he slammed his bike into the back of a stopped vehicle, People previously reported.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ at the time that the actor and photographer suffered a minor brain bleed and hip pain.

Earlier this week, E! News reported that Jolie-Pitt had been released from intensive care but, as a source noted, he has a “long road of recovery and physical therapy” ahead of him.

“He suffered complex trauma,” the source said. “Pax and Angelina are deeply grateful for the quick and life-saving action of first responders, as well as the exceptional medical care he received.”

Jolie-Pitt, who was adopted from an orphanage near Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, is the fourth of six children shared by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Since Pitt was accused of physically abusing Angelina Jolie and their children on a plane in 2016, the “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” star has had “virtually no contact” with his adult children, though he maintains “visits with the younger ones,” a source recently told People.

Alongside Pax, the celebrity brood also includes Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16.

Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh all recently dropped their father’s last name.

After 10 years of dating, Pitt and Jolie married in August 2014, with the latter filing for divorce just over two years later.

They were declared legally single in 2019 and are currently embroiled in a lawsuit over their joint French wine estate, Château Miraval.
