In this conversation, the Telecom Secretary explained the advantages of this merger. He said the merger will increase fiber-to-home connectivity.

In order to connect the fiber network of both the companies, BSNL and BSNL are merging, said Rajaraman. He informed that BSNL has 8 lakh KM fiber network. Whereas BBNL has 5 lakh KM fiber network.

The work of wiping the fibers in the houses of these 1.75 lakh gram panchayats is going on. It will start in this year.
