Bullet pierces wall of Los Angeles apartment, killing neighbor

A bullet went completely through the wall of a Valley Village apartment and killed a neighbor, according to a police report.

On Monday around 9:30 p.m., North Hollywood patrol officers responded to a radio call reporting “shots fired” in the 5600 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. When they arrived, they found a person inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics later pronounced the person dead at the scene.

LAPD homicide detectives were called and discovered that a bullet fired from the neighboring apartment had penetrated the wall and struck the victim.

No further information about the shooting has been released and authorities are refusing to release the victim’s identity until his family is notified.
