Scary video footage has captured the moment when thugs hit each other with metal rods during a violent street fight in broad daylight.

The clips, shared on social media, show about a dozen men, some armed with temporary weapons including a shovel attacking each other around 12pm in Manchester’s New Bury Road on Friday 26 November.

In the midst of the screams of spectators, toe-curled thumps can be heard as the men swinging long metal rods storm into a crowd and set off their terrifying attacks.

Officers also said men armed with machetes were also present at the scene.

An official GMP spokesman confirmed that investigations were underway and that no arrests had been made so far.

At the start of the horrific footage, a large group of men can be seen running from the direction of Sherborne Street as they try to escape from dozens of violent thugs armed with metal rods.

Eyewitnesses warned that such scenes of violence in the New Bury Road area were a ‘regular occurrence’ for local residents.

One witness explained: ‘This is a regular occurrence around here and we have to work in the middle of it.’

An air ambulance was driven to the scene near the intersection of Great Ducie Street and Sherborne Street, Friday.

A Greater Manchester police spokesman said: ‘Police were called just before noon. 12 on November 26 to Bury New Road, Manchester, to get a report of a large-scale fight involving about 10 people.

‘Some of the men involved were armed with weapons, including machetes and metal rods.

‘Six men have since presented themselves at the hospital with injuries believed to have been sustained during the fight.

‘Inquiries are ongoing and no one has been arrested so far.’
