“I support the president who is the most pro-life,” Butker said. “This is a subject that is most crucial to me. I want us to fight for the most vulnerable, for the unborn.

“That’s what we should be prioritizing and that’s obviously what Senator Hawley is doing as a man of faith. You have to vote for whoever is going to be the most pro-life. We have to be a man of prayer to put God first and I think that’s the priority.” what will be best for our country. »

Butker was able to attend the political event during the Chiefs’ bye week. Hawley is a U.S. senator from Missouri, but is seeking another term in Congress.

Along with Trump, Hawley will also be on the November 5 ballot. The outgoing president is a constitutional conservative who fights for religious freedom.

Butker’s support for Trump is due to the former president’s pro-life record. The Chiefs kicker is an outspoken athlete who stands firm on his Catholic values.

This isn’t the first time Butker has made headlines for his political comments. The 29-year-old delivered the commencement speech at Benedictine College which sparked much controversy.

Some of her most viral comments during the speech included her opinion on the place of women in society.

“I think it’s you women who have heard the most evil lies,” he said, before adding: “Some of you may have successful careers in the world , but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are very excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into the world.

Since then, Butker has been called a polarizing figure. However, the three-time Super Bowl champion defended his controversial comments in August.

“I was really curious about what people would say to me and I respected all points of view,” Butker said. “But as far as what I said, I prayed about it and I thought about it and I was very intentional with what I said. I stand by what I said. If people knew me as a person and understood that I came from a place of love, not a place of trying to attack or put down people, I only want the best for people. is what I was trying to say there and I think the people who were in that gym all understood what I was saying.

Butker is not the first athlete to support a presidential candidate. Kamala Harris and her campaign created the “Athletes for Harris” initiative, supported by Magic Johnson and Emmitt Smith.
