An intersection east of Fresno will be closed starting Monday and will remain closed for about two to three weeks.
The City of Fresno announced that the closure of the Shields Avenue/Locan Avenue intersection allows crews to make infrastructure improvements to accommodate the Clovis Unified School District’s new Terry Bradley Education Center, approximately 1.4 miles southeast.
When completed, the Bradley complex, located along Highland Avenue and Clinton Avenue, will include the new Clovis South High School and Phillip V. Sanchez Middle School.
The center will begin opening in phases starting in fall 2025 with seventh, eighth and ninth grade students, according to information from Clovis Unified.
Nearby major streets will remain open to traffic around the construction zone, including Ashlan Avenue to the north, McKinley Avenue to the south, Temperance Avenue to the west and DeWolf Avenue to the east.
