On July 26, the Santa Clara County Fire Department responded to a fire covering approximately one acre in the unincorporated town of Los Gatos in the Lexington Hills area.
Firefighters responded to reports of smoke around Aldercroft Heights and Bridge Road at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, county fire officials said on social media, adding that the wildfire had a “slow to moderate rate of spread.” Officials issued evacuation warnings “out of an abundance of caution,” but have since lifted the warnings.
“Crews will remain on scene as they work to contain the fire and are expected to be on scene for extended cleanup,” the county fire department said.
Authorities closed Bridge Road to traffic and no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred in an area that has seen at least one other fire recently. Matt Mokhtarian of the county fire department said firefighters responded to a fire around 4:30 a.m. on July 15. The fire was about 30 feet by 100 feet, or about an eighth of an acre, and spread slowly.
