Cupertino Symphonic Band prepares for fall concert – The Mercury News

Symphony Orchestra Concert

The Cupertino Symphonic Band will perform its annual fall concert on Sunday, October 13 at 3 p.m. at the Quinlan Community Center, 10185 N Stelling Road. Admission is free; canned goods donations benefit West Valley Community Services.

College Admissions Fair

On September 21, Flex College Prep is hosting an exhibit on “The Changing Landscape of College Admissions” at De Anza College in Cupertino. Speakers include former Harvard admissions officer Devery Doran and University of California, Santa Cruz admissions officer Gianna Benson, who will discuss changes and trends in college admissions for both UC campuses and private universities. Other topics include the latest trends and strategies in standardized testing. The exhibit also includes a mock admissions committee reviewing student cases and a separate workshop on “Cracking the UC Essay Code” for high school juniors and seniors.

A beautiful dairy hike

Hiking and cheese tasting on September calendar for Bay Area seniors.

A day trip on Wednesday, September 18 begins with a cheese tasting at a local dairy farm, then a stop for lunch on the beach, followed by a 2-mile walk at Pt. Reyes National Seashore to see and learn about the Tule elk. A shuttle departs Cupertino at 8 p.m.
