Dad Can’t Understand What He Sees on His Son’s Baby Camera: ‘Goosebumps’

A parent got goosebumps when she looked at her baby camera, which some Reddit users claim shows a ghost talking with their young child.

Christopher Marcus from Illinois took to the social media site to share what he saw on the baby’s camera, explaining that he woke up to the sound of his son babbling before looking at the monitor .

“I woke up to my son babbling and saw this on his camera,” he said in his post, which went viral with more than 57,000 upvotes and thousands of comments.

“I took a photo and walked into the room waiting for someone. It was gone. The only time I was really scared at home. It happened a little while ago and I still get goosebumps thinking about it.”

Marcus said News week: “I didn’t really have a reaction at first. I thought what I saw on the monitor looked strange, so I took a quick photo.

“I was really expecting there to be some sort of explanation when I walked in. His room was right next to mine.

“When I went and saw there was nothing there, that’s when a big sense of panic set in.”

The photo shows Marcus’ baby standing in his crib, holding on to the edge. In front of him, there is a shadow that he could not explain.

The post sparked a large number of responses, with some people sharing similar experiences.

According to Statista, 36 percent of Americans believe in ghosts, while 43 percent say they don’t believe in them and 20 percent say they don’t know if they believe in them or not.

“Well, that’s unsettling,” said u/Single_Asparagus4793. “Something similar happened to us a few months ago, although we didn’t see a number on the screen. Our son was babbling at first, then suddenly started laughing uncontrollably, totally obsessed with something above his cradle.”

u/ambear3000 commented: “Definitely not the message I wanted to see right before bed with my baby monitor next to me, in a house we just bought after the previous owner died. “

“Isn’t that something on the ground a few feet from the crib frame?” u/TheDogtor — speculated.

“Honestly it looks like a stepladder or toy box against the wall and a few random objects on the floor,” u/an0ddity said.

u/Idkhowyoufoundme7 commented: “Honestly, it just looks like the baby’s reflection in the camera lens. Baby monitors are sometimes weirdly angled.”

Other users suggested it might be a case of pareidolia, which is the psychological phenomenon in which people see faces in inanimate objects, according to Psychology Today.
