Dashcam videos capture the action across the United States

Dashboard cameras can come in handy on the road, especially if you’re accident-prone or want to know what’s going on in or around your vehicle.

These cameras capture just about everything, which can make for some pretty interesting footage, whether it’s a load of lumber flying and hitting a single vehicle on a busy overpass or a tornado devastating a building to Lincoln, Nebraska in seconds.

Dangerous and often unforeseen times, like those described above, have befallen a number of motorists across the country in 2024, forcing many to rely on their wits and determination to survive.

A building in Lincoln, Nebraska, was blown to smithereens by a fast-moving tornado in seconds. The only witnesses to this major meteorological event? The people inside the building, all of whom survived, and the footage taken by an unattended vehicle in the parking lot.

A motorist captured the moment before and after a small plane crashed near a Victoria, Texas, highway that destroyed three vehicles and injured four.

A truck loaded with heavy cargo, including lumber, lost its load, sending planks of wood flying toward cars crossing a busy overpass. A vehicle was thrown across the roadway by the force, but fortunately no one was injured.

Two planes narrowly avoided collision in New York, managing to gracefully move away from each other within seconds. The Federal Aviation Administration is reportedly investigating the incident.

A woman and her work truck were left hanging on the Second Street Bridge in Louisville, Kentucky, for 40 minutes after a car unexpectedly veered into the same lane, damaging the front of the truck. The driver who caused the collision, filmed by a dashboard camera, has been charged in connection with the accident.

A road maintenance worker was left with a “frightening reminder” of the possible and unexpected dangers one can encounter on the job, following a close encounter with a Penske box truck in Whitney Point, New Jersey. The company-supplied truck landed in a nearby field after demolishing the worker’s truck and ripping the safety helmet from his head.

A truck driver narrowly avoided death on a railroad track in Versailles, Ohio, after failing to park just behind the railroad crossing. The train completely destroyed the tractor, which houses the engine, transmission and driver’s compartment, in seconds.
