Oyster Edge Battery-powered IoT Asset Tracker and Bluetooth® Gateway honored for excellent innovation.
Digital Matter, a global leader in low-power GPS and IoT hardware development, announced today that its latest indoor / outdoor battery-powered asset tracking solution, Oyster Edge, has received a 2022 IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award from IoT Evolution, a leading publication that covers the Internet of Things.
In addition to indoor and outdoor location tracking, the Oyster Edge also acts as a Bluetooth Low Energy Gateway, enabling the device to track the location of critical assets in transit or storage, while also scanning for asset status data from a variety of third-party Bluetooth sensors, such as temperature, humidity , movement and more. Oyster Edge can also scan for Bluetooth tags associated with other small assets or low value assets and report their location, such as pallets loaded into a trailer.
Oyster Edge is designed for ultra-low power consumption and has cloud-based location management and works reliably for up to 10 years on user-replaceable 3 x AA batteries, depending on how the device is configured, reducing deployment and operating costs for companies with frequent battery changes or recharge cycles.
“As we emerge from the pandemic, we see an increase in demand for asset tracking and remote sensing solutions at the commodity level, as organizations seek to improve their operations and secure themselves against future problem scenarios,” says Ken Everett, CEO and Founder, Digital Matter.
“We are pleased to be recognized for our innovation in our battery-powered asset tracking solutions and are particularly excited about Oyster Edge and the new applications it enables for our partners.”
“It is my pleasure to recognize Digital Matter with an IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award for its continued innovation,” said Carl Ford, CEO & Community Developer for IoT Evolution. “As a leader in this rapidly evolving industry, I look forward to seeing Digital Matter’s future successes.”
In 2021, Digital Matter was also awarded the IoT Evolution Product of the Year award for Yabby Edge battery-powered asset tracking.
