The Buffalo Bills have been one of the most successful teams in the NFL in recent years, even if they haven’t resulted in a Super Bowl title. Buffalo has built a solid core of talent to work around and the organization has tweaked different things each year. The hope is that one day the Bills will finally break through and win a title, but heading into 2024, the Bills look a little different.
The team decided it was time to move on from star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, trading him to the Houston Texans. They also allowed wide receiver Gabe Davis to leave in free agency, landing with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The loss of Diggs and Davis means the Bills are short on receiving experience. But hopefully star quarterback Josh Allen can work some magic to get them back into shape.
With the arrival of young players in Buffalo’s offense this season, Allen will be tasked with taking on a leadership role. It seems like he’s embraced that challenge so far in OTAs and has been more vocal than ever.
Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins said The herd that Allen has been “barking” more this offseason.
“Josh is one of those guys who will do what he needs to do in that moment,” Dawkins said. “He’s really vocal when the moment comes. In fact, I’ve seen a lot more players bark in those OTAs where he’s been very, very verbal, because our team is different. It’s different. We have young guys that when they come in, they see a little bit of success, and they can change, so Josh does exactly what he needs to do.”
The turnover on the offensive end required someone to step up and Allen made the call. Bills second-round pick Keon Coleman should play a big role in the offense, as will veterans Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Chase Claypool. The Bills have more depth in the receiver room this season, but the team’s youth in that department could cause some early-season headaches.
Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL, so if anyone can do it, it’s him. His ability to lift the spirits of those around him has been evident for years, and the Bills will look to do the same this season. Allen had success in the regular season and some big moments in the playoffs, but he needs to prove he can win when the lights are on. If the Bills can overcome their inexperience on offense next year, Allen could be on his way to a potential MVP award.
