Divers are searching for the wreck of a superyacht owned by the family of a British tech tycoon who sunk off the coast of Sicily Sicilian rescue teams were working Monday to recover the remains of most of the six people missing after the crash, Sicilian Civil Protection confirmed to CBS News. Two bodies were brought to shore at Porticello, near Palermo, and two others were being repatriated.
The British Telegraph newspaper reported that the bodies of tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter were among the remains found Wednesday, but the head of civil protection would not confirm that to CBS News.
Six people, including Lynch and his daughter, are missing after the ship sank in a violent storm on Monday morning. One man, the Bayesian superyacht’s chef, was found dead shortly after the sinking, and 15 passengers and crew members managed to escape the accident, including Lynch’s wife, the ship’s owner.
