Lindy Li, a member of the DNC’s National Finance Committee, said the Democratic Party has been weakened by President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, to the point where it feels like a “loser.”
“I think, unfortunately, the Democratic Party has a smell of losers all over the party,” Li, a major fundraiser for the party, said on “Fox & Friends Weekend.”
Big tech executives like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg all met with Trump or directly, in Altman’s case, donated to Trump’s inaugural committee after his electoral victory.

Amazon plans to donate $1 million to Trump’s inauguration funds. Altman also donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund, and Zuckerberg announced similar plans to strengthen his ties with the president-elect.
“I speak as a Democrat myself, it gives me no joy to say it. I feel like the Democrats are going to be sent to the wilderness for at least the next four to eight years and Jeff Bezos probably thanks his lucky star that he refused this approval,” Li said. “They are now doing everything they can to continue the détente.”
Bezos ended presidential endorsements from The Washington Post, which he purchased in 2013, shortly before Election Day this year. The move angered some liberal staffers and journalists eager to assert the paper’s official position behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
Asked about the tech industry’s reaction as a whole to Trump’s victory, Li said they are excited about his new administration.
“I think the tech world likes the fact that Donald Trump is the next president,” Li said. “He has really embraced crypto. He says he wants the United States to be the crypto capital of the world. crypto.”
Li also addressed the growing unpopularity of key Democratic Party policies, including combating illegal immigration, saying voters are “fed up” with Democrats.

“I speak as an immigrant,” Li said. “For immigrants like me, who have become naturalized Americans, proud and grateful Americans, it is extremely upsetting that people are flocking to the country willy-nilly. ”
Zuckerberg visited Trump in early December at Mar-a-Lago to strengthen his ties with the president-elect as he prepares to take office in January.
